Gaming this week...12/4

I'm hosting again this week on Thursday 12/4 at 7pm.

I have a few new games still that could use more play (JD had a couple too). One of them is Battle Star Galactica....which seems to be a hit in San Antonio...

Yes Gaming Diva, it includes you too. Did you get Le Havre in the mail?

sorry, in Austin this week.

Thanks Rob for the invite. I will let you know by Wednesday. This week is hectic. I am itching to play since I've missed the last couple of meetups!

YES! I got Le Havre. Punched, rules read but when I finally got time to play a solo game the phone started to ring off hook. Almost got thru the short version and on a first take....no way close to Puerto Rico and I enjoyed my solo version of Agricola much better. In reading the newer reviews it takes several plays and I know I probably missed a few things.

Found someone in Pearland selling gently used games and I think I got an awesome deal for Caylus, Alhambra, and Nautilus. I will see.

I'm pretty sure I can make this one.

Lewis is a 'yes'.

Le Havre is very interesting, and looks great. It's a bit long though (the long game), and it felt repetitive. Or maybe I'm just bitter that I got destroyed in my 3 player game.

Denise will not be able to make it! I should be getting more games tomorrow.

Got to play Citadels last night with 3. I think that might actually be the best number for the game. Hadn't played it with 3 before.

Also, don't forget that there is gaming at Fuddrucker's on Sunday afternoon and evening.

I like Citadels a lot. Hehe....for some reason I've always liked it with large groups, even when that means having more chaos.

Denies: maybe next time

I'm estimating 3-4 then.

I think I can show up at 9-9:30PM again if that works out for the group.

fine by me

Well, dang, plans have changed and I'm out. There's a remote possibility that I can make it around 9pm, but I'll have to play it by ear.

just give me a call to let me know either way...

this will be tricky trying to plan for games...

Rob, if you don't have enough players for BSG, there has been a request for it on Sun. at Fuddruckers.

I'd love to go on Sunday, but I was already planning to go on Sat to Midnight Comics. I definitively can't do both.

there's always more games to play... and oh so little time.

Been thinking of typing up a session report, but got busy since we met on 12/4. And as the days go by, well I feel less compelled/excited to write about what happened. besides, most showed up. Marty? Denies? You all interested in reading?

Fine, well we played Middle Kingdom, the new Tom Lehman auction card game. Great stuff. I had tried it as a 3 player game, and it thought it was 'ok'. As a 5 player, it shines. It's a blind bid set-collecting game, but that Tom Lehman je ne sais quoi makes it a cool blind bid game (in a nutshell, it's not completely blind). plus it has some cool powers that add even more depth to the game.

Then the highlight of the night was Battle Star Galactica. Like it's been described elsewhere, it may have issues (eg length), but who cares, the game is all about the narrative. Every game session seems to have it's unique awesome storyline and events. It's an 'experience' game: it does a great job to recreate the events of the series. Can't wait to play some more.

I do enjoy your gaming reports! There are soooo many games I haven't tried yet. Especially this time of year, my hubby has asked me for a gaming wishlist.
